The topology-optimized lower of the F 232 ONE results in a benchmark stiffness-to-weight ratio offering between 100-120mm of travel at a weight starting from 1,480g. Combined with the XC-optimized LINEAIR spring curve and the three-position INCONTROL damping, the F 232 ONE is ready to chase – whether it’s for a podium or a KOM.

TOPOLOGY
OPTIMIZATION

The F 232 ONE sets a new benchmark in stiffness-to-weight ratio thanks to a topology-optimized design, a method that optimizes the layout of materials within a design space for a specific set of loads and constraints. The method removes material wherever it is not necessary, resulting in the ideal ratio between stiffness and weight to maximize the performance of the system.

BENCHMARK STIFFNESS TO WEIGHT

The two most important factors to consider to guarantee maximum performance are torsional and bending stiffness. Torsional stiffness ensures that a fork feels precise. Bending stiffness is required to ensure that the stanchions do not tilt in the bushings and therefore guarantee superior performance.

In order to maximize the performance of the 232 ONE, the target stiffness and strength were defined based on experience, athlete input and data collected both in the laboratory and in the field. The weight was then minimized using topology optimization.

ON-THE-FLY DAMPING ADJUSTMENT

Compression damping is defined by the amount of oil which can flow in different channels. The smaller the channels, the higher the flow resistance and the higher the damping. INCONTROL damping provides three on-the-fly damping adjustments offering the perfect compression tune for every riding situation by opening and closing different channels.

InControl

Detailed specs

In OPEN mode, the oil flows through the low- and high-speed compression channels. OPEN mode offers sensitivity and therefore a lot of traction. To meet all preferences, the adjustment needle allows the LSC channel to be closed in stages, increasing the LSC and resulting in a firmer feeling.

DRIVE mode closes the LSC channel. All the oil flows through the HSC channel. The shims of the HSC open at a certain force, resulting in higher compression damping which reduces energy loss but maintains traction on rocky uneven uphills.

When LOCK mode is set, a slider closes the LSC and HSC oil channels. Ideal for sprinting situations on even tracks where maximum power transmission is key. A blow-off valve protects rider and equipment from unexpected hits.

CROSS COUNTRY SPECIFIC SPRING CURVE

LINEAIR is a dual-air chamber system. Through the size of the air chambers and position of the bypass, the characteristic of the spring curve is specifically tuned to meet the needs of XC riders. A low breakaway force for traction, a linear but flatter mid-stroke section that allows you to float over root carpets and an end progression to eat the big hits.

lineair

The Line Air system consists of a bypass located in the air chamber. The bypass ensures that the pressure inside the negative air chamber is higher than in the positive air chamber when the fork is fully extended. This reduces the breakaway force.

The sizes of the air chambers were defined in such a way as to create a linear but flat spring curve characteristic in the medium travel range. This results in the ability to float over root carpets and maintain momentum.

APT

The APT (Adaptable Progression Tune) system allows the rider to adjust the progression of the air spring curve by adding or removing volume spacers in the fork's air chamber. This enables riders to adjust their spring curve to their riding style and the trails they are riding. The beauty of the system lies in the fact that the fork’s suppleness is unaffected, regardless of the setting chosen.

D 232 ONE

Cross country tracks, with their constant changes between technical climbs and steep descents, demand skills in both directions and not only from the rider. Developed specifically for cross country, the D 232 ONE dropper post is super light, reliable and easy to maintain thanks to UPSIDEDROP technology. The D 232 ONE offers 60 mm travel, and thanks to the carbon seat clamp and seat tube it weighs just 369 grams. Ready to attack.

LIGHT & RELIABLE

The Upside Down technology, with its fully mechanical system, allows not only a lighter construction of the D 232 ONE Dropper Post, but also highly reliable functionality thanks to the larger installation space for the release mechanism outside the seat tube. The release mechanism driven by a spoke eliminates the need for bleeding.

EASY MAINTENANCE

Release and grease – the tool-free concept known and appreciated from our hubs also features in the new D 232 ONE. You don’t even need to remove the seat post and saddle from your bike. Just release the lock nut of the slider tube, remove the upper, grease the guide key, the latch and the guide ring. This small service can be done in 5 minutes.

QUICKRELEASE

Quickrelease

Quickrelease not only allows easier installation of the seat post, it also allows trouble-free disassembly. Ideal for overseas races and adventures where you need to put your bike in your bike bag. Simply unhook the shifting cable and the Dropper is easy to stow away and the bike is easier to pack.

The cross country optimized LINEAIR spring curve of the R 232 ONE allows you to float over root carpets and offers enough end progression to forget the chicken lines and take tall drops on the XC courses. The three-position adjustment of the INCONTROL damping offers the perfect compression level for every situation – LOCK for sprints on even sections, DRIVE for technical climbs and Open mode to allow you to keep your brakes open on the downhills.

INCONTROL

ON-THE-FLY DAMPING ADJUSTMENT

Incontrol adjusts the oil flow by opening and closing the HSC and LSC channels and therefore the compression tune. This allows you to adapt your setup to every riding situation. Its three stages, on-the-fly damping adjustment offers the perfect compression tune – Open for descents, DRIVE for technical uphills, and LOCK for sprints on even sections.

INControl

The INCONTROL damping system is based on a state-of-the-art two-way low- and high-speed system. During slow compression movements, the oil flows through the non-adjustable low-speed compression (LSC) channel. At fast compression movements, the oil also flows through the oil channel of the high-speed compression (HSC) valve.

In OPEN mode, the oil flows through the low- and high-speed compression channels. OPEN mode offers sensitivity and therefore a lot of traction.

In the DRIVE mode, all the oil flows through the HSC channel. The shims of the HSC open at a certain force, resulting in higher compression damping which ensures less energy loss but provides traction on uphill sections on uneven tracks.

When LOCK mode is set, a valve closes the LSC and HSC oil channels. Ideal for sprinting situations on even sections where maximum power transmission is key. A blow-off valve protects rider and equipment from unexpected hits.

LINEAIR

CROSS COUNTRY SPECIFIC SPRING CURVE

The R 232 ONE uses a dual-air chamber system, which is auto-balanced by a bypass. When the shock is fully extended, the pressure in the negative air chamber is higher than in the positive air chamber.  This reduces the breakaway force, offering perfect traction and sensitivity. When the shock compresses, the piston moves over the bypass of the air chamber. When the piston is located on the bypass, the bypass ensures pressure equalization of the positive and negative air chamber. When the shock is compressed further, only the air inside the positive air chamber is compressed and the negative chamber is depressurized.

lineAIR

The aim was to design a high-performance, lightweight shock that offers a low breakaway force, a mid-stroke section that makes it possible to float over bumps on flat tracks and offers a progressive end stroke that avoids harsh bottom-outs. This has been achieved through the position of the bypass and the volume of the air chambers.
